In addition to our own portfolio of patented product designs, SYR can design, develop and manufacture bespoke cleaning equipment to make the most difficult tasks easy. With a relentless appetite for challenges we enjoy nothing more than working hard on a project that allows our team to join our customer on the whole journey, creating those initial ideas, thrashing out the details and finally implementing the manufacture.

Although it can sometimes be months or years to yield results, our R&D team work tirelessly to bring new innovation and invention to SYR.

Idea

The initial pool of ideas is vast. Our team will sift through these and locate ideas with potential or those that do not have insurmountable limitations. At this point the team will complete market analysis, looking at existing products to assess how original a new idea is and how well it can be developed.

Planning

This is the point the team will agree a project schedule, create a statement of requirements and establish their test validation criteria.

Concept & Feasibility

Once an idea has been thoroughly researched, the process of turning research into a marketable commodity begins. This is where our team considers concept, component’s design and proof of principles.

Design and Development

Researchers agree on how an idea may be turned into a practical product. As the process iterates, the prototype complexity may start to increase. 3D designs will be created with performance reviews and validation throughout this key stage.

Implementation & Pre-production

As the product takes shape, the process divides into other relevant areas in our business where durability, performance, safety testing, pricing and marketing are considered. Regulatory aspects are assessed and work begins to meet all the criteria for approvals and launch.

Mass production

The product is now ready to be produced on a mass scale, with internal quality checks and sample validation testing to ensure all products meet our stringent quality control criteria.

Launch

The product that started as research question will now be ready for its biggest test, the introduction to the market.

Post Production

The evaluation of the product continues at this stage and beyond, eventually leading to possible re-designs based on regulatory or industry expectation.

At any point in this process the idea may be abandoned and very often does. Its feasibility may be questioned or the research may not reveal what our business hoped for. It is therefore important to analyse each idea critically at every stage and not become emotionally invested in anything.
